jIM finally on his way again
The last couple of weeks have been a frustrating time for jIM as IMI studio StinkyStudios/StudioStink have been upgrading its entire machine park – leaving the ongoing recordings hanging in midair without access to record anything but production demos. Now the upgrade is done and StinkyStudios/StudioStink is up and running with brand new gear.
– Fucking finally it feels like I'm on my way again, jIM says. It have been a long wait, and an unwelcome disruption in the recording process, but the upgrade was crucial so I'm glad that it's done. Now it's going to sound better than first anticipated and I hope the recordings will run smoothly now that everything's up and running.
The recordings started early this year but so far it has only resulted in a short preview of 'Some things 'bout women', the possible first "single" release, and a few production recordings.
– Yeah, 'Some things 'bout women' was nearly finished when it stood clear that the studio gear had to be exchanged to continue, and the end product will most likely sound different from the preview. And so is the other recordings. It's kind of annoying that you have recorded several songs only to realize that you have to start over again. But the upper hand is that now I know better what I want to do with them, and I have a clearer view on most of them so I think the "real" recordings is going to go much faster than first expected.
jIM have earlier strongly proclaimed that there will be no release date set for the new release, but now it seems that he has started to give it at least a thought.
– I didn't want to set any release date from the beginning of this project and I still won't, simply because I don't want to rush through the process just to have something to release, but also because I don't want to raise any expectations too long in advance. I realise that I already have made some people curious about the release, but I withstand the fact that there is no release date to be set and the recording might well take a year before it's finnished. But I've got a trip planned for the tropics once again in september, and I hope that by then I have at least a couple of songs out as a taste of what to come.
No date for certain, but couldn't you sense slight of a promise in those words?
